Joining Forces to Change Lives

With mental health being brought up in more and more discussions, a spotlight has been shined on the resources, or rather, lack thereof, for people living with mental illness.

At the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, we are working to address the most pressing needs in our community. We recently were able to support the Mental Health Association Oklahoma through our Access to Health Care community grant, bolstering their on-the-road Street Medicine van and allowing them to add necessary components to serve those who need it.

In 2023, Oklahoma took a major step forward in addressing systemic issues related to mental health treatment. OCCF joined with government agencies, nonprofits, private foundations, corporate partners and individual donors to support the Healthy Minds Healthy Lives Foundation. In September, the partners announced the development of the Donahue Behavioral Health Center housed at OSU-OKC in Oklahoma County.
