Counselor Network

The 2024 Scholarship Celebration for students who received CFS scholarships through the Counselor Network.

Central Oklahoma High School Counselor Network

OCCF’s scholarship program would not be the success it is without the hard work and dedication of high school counselors throughout the state. Through the Central Oklahoma High School Counselor Network, we partner with counselors at 54 central Oklahoma high schools to provide training and resources to help as they support students in achieving their educational aspirations and securing scholarship funding for those studies.

COHSCN 2024 Scholarship Workshop

Counselors in the Network will have a day of meaningful interaction with friends and colleagues!

This event will help counselors support and motivate their students as they explore continuing education beyond high school.

In addition to hearing about Oklahoma City Community Foundation scholarship opportunities, you have the opportunity to tour the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma-Bricktown and learn about the latest in admissions, FAFSA and scholarship applications.

Continuing Education

Students rely on their counselors to reach their dreams. Thanks to OCCF’s – Central Oklahoma High School Counselor Network, counselors participate each year in training and gain access to tools to better guide their students through applications for post-secondary education. There are three training sessions held annually for counselors in the network:

  • Fall Workshop
  • Spring Workshop
  • Summer Institute

Scholarship Opportunities

All schools participating in the Central Oklahoma High School Counselor Network have access to:

  • Community Foundation Scholar – $3,000 for a graduating senior.
  • New Opportunities Scholarship – $3,000 for a first-generation high school graduate (must apply as a junior)

Networking Opportunity

In addition to continuing education, our trainings provide opportunities to network with fellow counselors and exchange ideas and best practices. Contact Rick Fernandez for more information about connecting with counselors in the network.

Small Grants

As a part of the Community Foundation’s Scholarship Initiative, OCCF’s Trustees select an annual focus area for additional grants available to Counselor Network participants.

Contact Rick Fernandez for information about the application process.
