Nonprofit News: Maximize Impact This Year-End

Maximize Impact This Year-End

By Jennifer Stewart, Senior Director of Donor Services

As the year comes to a close, many donors are considering how to make meaningful charitable contributions. For nonprofits with endowments at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, this is a prime opportunity to remind supporters of the lasting impact they can have through year-end giving.

An endowment fund provides a permanent source of income, helping your organization thrive for generations. When donors contribute to your endowment at OCCF, their gifts are invested to grow over time, with annual distributions supporting your mission—year after year.

Your endowment is a perfect opportunity for donors to give complex, tax-savvy gifts like Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs).

Beginning at age 70 1/2, donors can give up to $108,000 per year to qualified nonprofits through QCDs, and when the donor turns 73, these gifts can also help fulfill their Required Minimum Distribution. Our team is ready to help you through the process, so give us a call!

Consider Tax-Savvy Gifts

Year-end giving offers donors multiple benefits, including potential tax advantages. Gifts of cash, appreciated stock, or distributions from IRAs (for those 70½ and older) can all be directed to your endowment. We can partner with you to make this process easy by assisting with complex gifts and ensuring the donation is properly credited to your organization’s fund.

Now is the Time

Now is the time to communicate with your donors. Highlight how their year-end gift can provide both immediate tax benefits and long-term impact. Share stories of how your endowment has supported your work and helped sustain your mission during uncertain times.

Partnering with OCCF not only strengthens your financial future but also offers donors a trusted, efficient way to give. Encourage your supporters to invest in your future by giving to your endowment this season.
