The Oklahoma City Community Foundation trustees and staff offer our sincere condolences to the family of Bob Funk Sr. upon news of his passing.
Bob Funk Sr. was always a fierce advocate and gracious supporter of our community.
A champion of future generations, Funk worked with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation to establish the Oklahoma Youth Expo endowment, securing funding for the Expo well into the future.
The co-founder and executive chairman of Express Employment International, one of the leading staffing firms in North America, Funk drove this community forward with an intense entrepreneurial drive, though his legacy extended well beyond that.
Beyond his staffing firm, Funk served as a cattleman and founder of Express Ranches, which would become the world’s largest producer of registered Angus cattle. His love for the western spirit extended into all aspects of his life, from his signature cowboy hat to his rugged and unwavering determination, Funk led his life with faith, dignity and courage.
Bob Funk Sr. passed away in his home, Express Ranches, in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 on July 15, 2025.
