Marilyn Myers was a well-respected nonprofit executive known for her leadership and commitment to the community. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Fine Arts, Ms. Myers eventually became the Director of the Arts Council of Oklahoma City, where she was instrumental in establishing the first Festival of the Arts that continues to this day. The Festival of the Arts has grown into one of the nation’s largest and attracts thousands of residents from across the state.

In 1983 she became the director of the Kirkpatrick Family Foundation and the Kirkpatrick Family Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. She helped many nonprofit organizations develop and build up their endowments with the foundation through Kirkpatrick matching opportunities.

In 1998, she established her own fund with OCCF to support the organizations she was passionate about. Some of those organizations included the Oklahoma Children’s Theatre, Oklahoma Contemporary and the Harn Homestead.
