The Oklahoma Voices Art Collection brings together Oklahoma-based artists to spotlight the talent, perspectives and people of this amazing place we call home. This collection, along with works from other collections and various donations, is housed throughout the Oklahoma City Community Foundation offices, reflecting our communities and welcoming all.
About the Collection
Oklahoma is home to a unique tapestry of cultures, history and people that create our communities and make this such a special place to live. A love of Oklahoma inspired Oklahoma City Community Foundation’s founder, John E. Kirkpatrick, to bring people together to enhance our community, and that shared love continues to inspire people today.
Special thanks to the Kirkpatrick Family funds, Christian Keesee and other anonymous donors for their support of Oklahoma artists and this collection. We hope the featured art informs and brings joy to our guests and inspires us all to celebrate our home and those we share it with.

The Oklahoma Voices Collection features artists with strong ties to Oklahoma who come from a wide range of education, age, ability, racial, cultural, gender and geographic backgrounds. Consisting of works on paper, mixed media, practical art such as textiles and fiber arts, and other mediums, the collection showcases the unique cultural fabric of Oklahoma.

Hank Ehrenfried, originally from New Jersey, now resides in Oklahoma City. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Pratt Institute. He has had solo exhibitions in California, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The Oklahoma Voices Collection of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation
Originally from New Mexico, Shannon Conley now resides in central Oklahoma. She is an art quilter and fiber artist, as well as a cell biologist and biochemist. She runs a biomedical research lab at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences, and her scientific research often influences her pieces.

Born in Chickasha, Oklahoma Jeremy Dylan Cavin is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation. The Oklahoma Arts Council commissioned him to paint a portrait of the Choctaw Code Talkers of World War I, displayed in the Oklahoma State Capitol.

VC Torneden is a visual artist who works in multiple mediums including photography. She photographs both using analogue and digital formats. Her formal training in the arts includes the University of New Orleans and Memphis College of Art. Since 1995, her work has been featured in various publications and exhibited nationwide. She creates and works from her home studio in rural Oklahoma County.

Behnaz Sohrabian was born in Kermanshah, Iran. Behnaz earned a B.S. in Applied Chemistry, a B.A. in Painting and a Master of Arts in Art Studies. After completing her Master’s degree she immigrated to the United States in 2010 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2017. Behnaz is based in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Polly Sharp has lived her entire life in Oklahoma and is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation. She is a self-taught artist, taking private lessons from artists she admires, and online studies. It was only after retirement that she began to paint full-time. Polly’s works have won awards and been featured in many locations.

Stuart Sampson is a painter based in Edmond, Oklahoma. A proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, his work reflects his love for the culture taught to him by his grandfather. He has won awards for his work at the Cherokee Art Market and Red Earth Art Market.
