Working to enrich lives, enhance the cultural life of the community and educate future generations about the value of music, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic exists to provide inspiration and joy for the community through orchestral music.
Through programs like Youth Concerts, We’ve Got Rhythm!, and Guest Artist Masterclasses, the OKCPHIL works to engage musicians of all ages. This drive has worked to inspire musicians and donors alike, and we at OCCF love to drive that passion into sustainable funding for our nonprofit partners.
In 2024, we did just that when former OCCF Board Chair Steve Agee established a sub-fund for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Discovery Series, which introduces children and families to classical music performances and instruments.
Founded in 1988, the OKCPHIL celebrates over 30 years of music in Oklahoma City. Under the direction of Alexander Mickelthwate, the orchestra performs Classics, orchestral Pops, and Discovery Family concerts. It brings music to the community through various community engagements, including their upcoming Red, White & Boom concert at Scissortail Park, which is free to all this July 3rd!
Now, the OKCPHIL is gearing up for their 2025-26 season, which is sure to have something for everyone, whether it be concerts celebrating Dolly Parton’s Threads, showcasing Tchaikovsky or capturing the magic of Disney. Make sure to check it out!
